The Cheat Sheet by Sarah adams

This book is one of my favorites. It is not for everybody.

You have to suspend a pretty decent amount of reality in your mind to make it work. What are the chances that there is a pack of pro football players who are all enamored of the same girl and she is ‘average’?

What are the chances that a pro football player is going to be a celibate?

What are the chances that two people can be into each other for that long without someone reaching out?

But once you suspend disbelief it is so fun. There is a scene where our hero is basically having a guys night where they try to come up with plays to get the heroine to fall for him. And then she walks in and they all scramble. It’s super cute and funny.

Also - he pines for her just the right amount which is way more than I think any man of my acquaintance is willing to pine without getting frustrated and giving up.

This is basically a fantasy romance set in reality but I still read it once a year.

Final Thought: A closed door masterpiece.
